gl1500 lcd display made in china

Hello! My name is Jennifer and I work for Tanin Auto Electronix. We are a WI based business that specializes in vehicle auto electronic repairs, specifically for instrument clusters, climate controls, and radio lighting, as well as selling DIY repair parts like LCD screens that we design and manufacture. We sell to customers all over the country, via our website, our Ebay store and on Amazon.

We also know that many people are DIYers so by the end of September, we will have enough LCD screens in stock to offer them for sale as well. We will also offer genuine Honda backlighting bulbs and blue bulb caps that almost always should be replaced while doing the LCD.

Feel free to reach out to us with any questions. We are excited to be able to assist in repairing any malfunctioning LCD screens for our Gold Wing Forum friends!

They are not offering the LCD screen by itself yet Erd. They expect to do that in September and have not given a price for just the screen yet. That 349.99 price is if you send in yours and they do the work including replacing bulbs.

Wow! I am SO glad to see this available now!! Mine has its foibles (in cold, damp weather, while parked, it stops displaying properly, loses time, etc.), but the LCD hasn"t started to bleed. Yet. When it does, there"s a FIX!! Woohoo!!

I was just informed that the individual LCD panels are now available for pre-order, if you want to do your repair yourself:http://www.taninautoelectronix.com/Prod ... luster_lcd

If they are sending that many bulbs it"s OK, but the LCD only uses 1 bulb & cap. Maybe someone has ordered the bulb kit and can confirm the number of bulbs.

The LED that I have shared fits perfectly to the LCD bulb housing. You should only tighten the contacts inside the connector with a screwdriver since the LED has a thinner base than a regular bulb.

The LCD screen itself sells for less than $150. Replacing it yourself would not cost you anything. But of course it"s always up to the owner to make their own decision.

I suppose "too expensive" is a relative term. Compared to the cost of a new gauge cluster (when you could actually buy one new), it"s very cheap. I managed to find what was probably the last new cluster in the country a couple of years ago. At $700, that was expensive. But I managed to get a brand new cluster, with the white gauges that I prefer, and no more issues from the "96-"97 LCD humidity problem. I replaced the LCD on my old gauges with the Tanin screen, and was blown away at how good the old gauge cluster looked. It was perfect. It still had the humidity sensitivity issue, and I sold it on Ebay with a thorough explanation and understanding of that issue to the buyer. But, other than the intermittent blank LCD, the buyer got a cluster that was in excellent shape, with 60K miles on the odometer. I highly recommend the Tanin screen to anyone with an LCD problem. It"s a very good quality product.
