This car is the ‘Job One’ S-TYPE which was built on 11 January 1999, the first production car of the model, which was reserved for the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust.  For the first time, this was a Jaguar not built in the historic Coventry, Browns Lane, factory; instead the S-TYPE was manufactured in Jaguar’s Castle Bromwich factory in Birmingham.  This was originally built to make Spitfires for the Battle of Britain, but has been Jaguar’s body plant for more than twenty years.

The X200 model, named the S-TYPE after the equivalent Jaguar model of the 1960s and launched at the 1998 British International Motor Show at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, was one of the most eagerly awaited new Jaguar models for many years.  For the first time in almost thirty years, it gave Jaguar a second saloon model in the range.  It brought Jaguar back to its roots as a maker of compact luxury sports saloons, and was the first all-new saloon model introduced after the Jaguar company had been taken over by Ford in 1989.

While the S-TYPE initiated the policy of sharing selected components with other cars manufactured by the Ford Group, the designers and engineers behind the car remained faithful to the ideal of making the car a true Jaguar thoroughbred.  This was evident in the distinctive style, developed under the guidance of the late Geoff Lawson, Jaguar’s Design Director whose last work the S-TYPE was.  The car featured several instantly recognisable Jaguar styling signatures, evoking the spirit of Jaguars of the past, without being in any way ‘retro styled’.

The chassis was carefully engineered, with double wishbone front and rear suspension, to provide the unique Jaguar driving experience, offering a remarkable combination of agile handling with supple ride and luxurious comfort worthy of the marque.  The engines were the well-proven Jaguar AJ-V8 of 4 litres, or alternatively the new AJ-V6 engine of 3 litres.  Overall, the S-TYPE gave Jaguar a convincing entry in the important executive class.

NavTool NAVRGB 3.0 is an externally wired Universal video interface that is installed in-line with the navigation computer and navigation screen. It works simply by interrupting the video signal from the navigation computer when it is activated, or when +12V are applied on the reverse camera wire. When this occur the navigation system video image will be replaced by the video source connected to NavTool NavRGB 3.0 video interface.

NavTool NAVRGB 3.0 is a video-only input interface and does not have any audio inputs. If the vehicle does not have a factory installed AUX audio input, then an auxiliary audio input adapter or an audio FM modulator is required to connect audio signals from an external Audio/Video source to the factory audio system. The video and audio will always be perfectly in sync.

NavTool NavRGB 3.0 is video-in-motion enabled for off-road (away from any public roads) use, the video image will stay on the screen even while the vehicle is in motion, however, we do not recommend doing this.

Factory navigation DVD-ROM cannot play DVD movies, an external video source is needed to display video on the factory navigation screen. Examples of the video sources: DVD player, Game Console, Digital Media Player, HDD, iPhone, iPad, iPod Video (NavTool NavRGB 3.0-HDMI does not allow control from the vehicle"s touch screen, all touch screen controls remain from the smartphone, however, smartphone screen will be mirrored/duplicated on your vehicle"s color and/or navigation screen).

Video Input Two is dedicated to the back-up camera, this input is automatically activated when the vehicle is placed in reverse, parking grid lines can be turned on or off.

Front Camera Input:is dedicated to an installation of a front camera. The front camera can be turned on automatically after the reverse and will stay on the screen up to 10 MPH, or can be turned on manually at any time.
