The displays are illuminated by LED"s but also contain a colored layer of foil that is embedded between the layers of glass. The green displays have a green colored foil while the red displays have a red colored foil.

Installing a MK2 instrument cluster with green illumination or MK2.5 instrument cluster is perfectly possible. Since 2008 I have done this at least a dozen times. Even an RS instrument cluster is fully compatible with any MK2/MK2.5 Petrol version. Installing an MK2.5 instrument cluster can also be quite cheap. Recently I bought a low mileage, mint condition MK2.5 instrument cluster with large display from a UK based scrap yard I paid less than €100,- including P&P. The Focus MK2/MK2.5 instrument cluster can easily be configured/reprogrammed using a cheap ELM327 in combination with the free ELMconfig and Forscan software.

Your mileage display is very important because it lets you know how much fuel the car is using. If your Ford Focus Mileage display not working, then here is what you need to do.

Ford vehicles come with various features that can improve the driving experience. One such feature is the mileage display. This display shows how much fuel the car has left and can help estimate how long the vehicle will last.

However, some Ford Focus owners report that the mileage display on their dash is not working. This may confuse drivers, as they may be unable to estimate how much fuel they have left.

Don’t worry. There are a few simple things you can do to fix the issue. This article will show you how to troubleshoot and fix common issues with the Ford Focus mileage display. You’ll be able to get your car back on the road in no time!

When your Ford Focus mileage display isn’t working, it could result from faulty wiring. The issue may be with the connection between the instrument cluster and the body control module (BCM) or between the BCM and the powertrain control module (PCM).

The computer is responsible for tracking the number of miles the car has traveled and displayed it on the dashboard. If it is not working properly, you will not be able to see how many miles you have driven.

If your Ford Focus mileage display is not working, it could be due to a faulty LCD display. The most common problem is that the display will not light up.

Another common problem is that the odometer display will not show any information. In some cases, the display may show incorrect information. In this case you might have to go back to your dealer.

The most common solution is to take your car to a mechanic or service center. They will be able to identify the problem and fix it for you. Another solution is to download and install a new software update from Ford. This update should fix the mileage display issue. If neither of these solutions works, your best bet is to take your car to the dealership and have them look at it.

If you want to do things yourself then you will need a screwdriver and a socket drive to fix the Ford Focus LCD mileage display. And a spare LCD if needed.

There is no definitive answer to this question because it can depend on various factors, such as the model of Ford Focus and the replacement part itself. However, as a general rule of thumb, it costs anywhere from $100 to $200 to replace a Ford Focus mileage display.

It is important to remember that labor costs may also be incurred, so be sure to factor those into your overall cost estimate. If you’re unsure what exactly needs to be done to replace the mileage display in your Ford Focus, it’s best to consult a certified mechanic or car dealership.

Your Ford Focus has a built-in display that shows important information like the current speed, how much fuel is left in the tank, and which gear you’re in. If this display starts acting up, or you just want to reset it to its factory default settings, here’s how to do it:

Due to a few potential causes your Ford Focus Radio screen may not be working. If the display has gone bad it will need to be replaced. If there is an issue with the car’s electrical system, which may require the help of a professional mechanic to diagnose and fix.

Finally, if there is a problem with the radio it will need to be repaired or replaced. If you’re experiencing problems with your Ford Focus Radio screen, troubleshoot the issue as best as possible and then talk to a qualified mechanic for further diagnosis and repair.

Okay so I managed to solve the problem myself. The cluster"s LCD screen wasn"t working. I managed to purchase a used cluster from Israel off of ebay.com for $75 dollars. Ford Trinidad said because the ebay cluster was used, they could not configure it to work with my car. Anyway long story short, I dismantled the both clusters, and switched out the lcd screens. It worked! If anyone has ever opened and repaired a smart phone, then they can do this. the lcd setup is very similar to a smart phone. In fact, its easier to do. Now my cluster is like new.

Received in about 3-4 days. Removed instrument cluster from a 2015 Ford Escape SE. Disassembled instrument cluster with 4 Torx screws and came apart easily. Part was a little different than original. My original had no mounting ears and snapped into the cluster, but it fit just fine and the mounting ears didn"t get in the way of anything. The ribbon cable on the snap in type screen is a little tricky but is doable. Attached pictures show the blank screen (screen was also intermittent). The good picture is after new screen was installed.

A vehicle with trouble starting or that does not start at all, because of a defective instrument cluster. This may sound a bit odd for the layman, but it could in fact be the case. The electronics in today’s modern cars are so dependent on each other that one single failing component can cause problems. Signals that were sent to the ECU through the instrument cluster do not reach their target, with all the associated consequences.

You might only expect this problem for the more expensive and luxurious cars, considering that they are overloaded with electronics, but it could also occur with ‘‘everyday’’ cars like the Ford Focus. The second model from the Focus series, the DA2, indeed sends relevant information through the instrument cluster. When this cluster does not function, the car might not respond to the accelerator or in the future not even start anymore. Fortunately, this rarely happens. In case your car does not start, a good slap on the dashboard might (temporarily) help.

The Ford Focus 2 instrument cluster frequently suffers from problems but with most of them the car is still able to start. One or more needles might drop to zero, the display lighting might switch off and various CAN errors like error code U1900 frequently occur. But what goes defective in the cluster in such cases?

After all problems have been localised, the glass is removed and the needles are gently detached. Next up is specialist soldering. We will not get into too much detail, but one must be extremely careful around those fragile components. The processor might namely become overheated or suffer from short circuit. The places were buried vias became defective, bypasses are created.

The Ford Focus dashboard may seem simple at first glance, but the digital display between the analogue-looking gauges actually tells us that it concerns a modern instrument cluster. Even though some functions appear to be analogue, in fact they are not. The needles of the gauges move because of stepper motors, which receive their signals from the processor. These signals usually originate from various CAN messages that were sent, sometimes more than a hundred times per second. Just one plug connects the cluster to the rest of the car. Analogue speedometer cables have become quite outdated.

There are 3 pins in use that can be connected to the mass once the menu in the cluster is operated by using the buttons on the steering column switch. Controlling these buttons produces a short signal to the processor that in turn changes the menu on the display.

The message is probably clear: in this brief story we explained 12 pins that all have their own function and we only described a small part of all the features. Therefore, it is not difficult to get to 32 pins in a multifunctional cluster like the one of the Ford Focus 2. CAN might have become an indispensable component in modern cars, it is surely not complete and comprehensive enough. The usage of separate signals will keep existing.

Finally, there is one practical tip we would like to mention: An unfortunate phenomenon with modern electronics is that it secretly keeps using electricity after it seemed to be switched off. This might also occur with the instrument cluster of the Ford Focus 2, which uses 0,06 mA in stand-by mode and about 0,7 mA when switched on. In case you would like to measure if the cluster secretly uses electricity, these values can be used as a reference.

Pay attention! We know from experience that the glass of the instrument cluster easily breaks during disassembly. The cluster is properly attached to the dashboard and too much tension or pressure on certain spots might cause fractures or cracks in the glass: Ford Focus II 2005-2010.
