This Wacom Components driver offers added features for most pen input tablets or computers that use Wacom’s pen technology. To verify whether your tablet or computer can take advantage of this driver, please download the driver and run the installer. If the driver does not work for your tablet or computer, a ‘Computer unsupported’ message will appear. Click the ‘Close’ button and the installer will cancel and leave your system unchanged.
Bamboo Ink and Bamboo Ink Plus work with compatible pen-enabled devices that feature Wacom AES technology or Microsoft Pen Protocol. Windows 10 contains a pen driver that supports Bamboo Ink and Bamboo Ink Plus without requiring a Wacom driver (the Windows Inbox driver*). The Windows Inbox driver is the only driver available for all tablets and computers that use the Microsoft Pen Protocol, such as all Microsoft-branded devices.
Note for Microsoft Pen Protocol devices:To use the Bamboo Ink or Bamboo Ink Plus on devices using Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP), switch your pen to MPP mode. Directions are available on the Bamboo Ink Getting Started page at http://www.wacom.com/inkgo. Note that the Wacom Components driver does not support devices using the Microsoft Pen Protocol.
After installing this driver on your Windows device with Wacom’s pen technology, your tablet or computer can take advantage of the following Wacom optimized pen features:
Note: If you are upgrading from a previous Wacom Components Driver version: for best results, uninstall the current driver first and restart the system prior to installing the new driver.
* Inbox drivers are drivers that Microsoft ships with Windows "in the box". They are the drivers that are listed under Packages\Drivers in the distribution share.
These products work with devices capable of running the latest version of Chrome OS and have been certified to meet Google"s compatibility standards. Pen must be used with the tablet to function with Chrome OS.
After installing the Wacom tablet driver the pen tablet will not work properly and on trying to access the control panel (Wacom Tablet Properties) the following error appears:
The pen on the 1152 only works with XenApp if Windows Ink is disabled in the Wacom Tablet control panel because of a known issue between Citrix and Microsoft.
At the time of writing (Nov 2018) there is no work-around for this issue - it depends upon Citrix and Microsoft between them to produce a solution in a later release of XenApp and/or Windows.
Windows touch input is mapped by the operating system. The Wacom driver attempts to override this but may not always be successful in certain environments.
Touch mapping is easily set by opening the Tablet PC Settings, selecting the Display tab, clicking the
This Touch calibration tool is hidden on Windows 10 and there is no way to access it through the Windows 10 menu system - it can only be accessed through the Run dialog.
Windows touch display mapping is stored in the Windows registry as the device path and the video path. These paths are unique to each machine and device, so it cannot be shared between machines.
So, this mapping will need to be performed individually on each machine, but the settings will stay for that device as it is currently connected to the computer.
The DisplayLink driver appears in Programs and Features as "DisplayLink Core Software". Older releases also show a second entry for "DisplayLink Graphics"
Please download the UV-A8301 USB 2.0 Display Adapter. (Please note that the MAC driver supplied in the download file is not compatible with the 1031X). Normally the MCT driver will update automatically to the latest version from the Internet if your PC is connected to it. The 1031X MCT driver will appear in "Programs and Features" on your PC as "Trigger External Graphics Family...." - see the screenshot at the bottom of this page
Check that the DTU appears as a "Wacom Tablet" under Human Interface Devices in Device Manager. In most versions of Windows it should also appear as a USB Display Adapter as below
Once the relevant drivers are installed please check that the "Wacom Professional Service" service is running in Windows Services - if not then uninstall and reinstall the driver and check again.
For the DisplayLink driver there should also be a Windows Service called "DisplayLinkManager" and this should also be running. If not start it manually.
For the DTU-1031X the Wacom Professional Service should be running but there is no graphics driver service as such. You should however find a new purple icon in your system tray.
Calibrate the pen using the Wacom Tablet Control Panel which should appear in your Start menu as "Wacom Tablet Properties" (this is not normally required but if your pen is out of line that it may help).
If none of the above actions resolves the problem then it will probably be necessary to enable driver logging and send the log files via a support ticket.
Therefore, if WacomTablet_6.3.45-1.exe is the downloaded installer file, then WacomTablet_6.3.36-1.exe /opt nowdc would install the driver without Wacom Desktop Center.
Silent Install/sThe silent install option is usually used by companies or organisations for mass deployment without disrupting users. It should install the driver without any user input and no messages should occur during the install that are visible by the user. Silent installs will skip the .NET download and installation as that function is not silent.
STU Mode Install/custom STU_MODEThe "STU mode" install option is typically used in signature environments as it prevents the tablet from functioning normally. The pen cannot be used for navigation in STU mode, instead it can only be used when a signature application assigns a signature window to the tablet. Once the signature is complete and submitted the pen should become inactive again.
No WDC Install (6.3.19)/opt nowdcThe "No WDC" install option allows users to skip the installation of the WDC (Wacom Desktop Center) during the install process. This is helpful for large deployments of devices that don"t use the WDC, taking up less space after the install and removing any requirements the machine may need for .NET 4.0/4.5. at least on the part of Wacom.
No OSD Install/opt noosdThe no OSD install option allows users to skip the installation of the Wacom Display Settings software during the install process. This is helpful for large deployments of devices that don"t use the Wacom Display Settings software, taking up less space after the install. This does not prevent the FTDI driver from installing as that is still needed for certain firmware updates.
No Internet Checks Install (6.3.29)/opt noinetThe "No Internet" install option allows users to skip the checks for, downloads of, and installation of any driver/WDC prerequisites during the install process.
Enable Wintab and Driver Logging (6.3.31)/opt DebugDllThe Enable Wintab logging argument is useful for enabling full Wintab and driver logging on install.
No Automatic Custom Applications/opt noappxThe No Automatic Custom Applications option skips the installation of any .wacomas files to prevent Wacom"s custom application settings from populating automatically.
Remove Existing User Preferences on Install/opt deleteallprefsThe Remove Existing User Preferences on Install option removes any existing user preferences to provide users with a new driver state when their install is complete.
Auto Driver Restart/opt AutoDriverRestartEnables the auto driver restart feature that will automatically restart the driver if one of the Driver"s processes crash. This is intended only for users that don"t use Wintab apps as this will disrupt their Wintab connection.
No non-WDC Notifications/opt noupdatesThe noupdates parameter will prevent the installation of the Wacom Update Utility that provides system notifications for Wacom driver, firmware, and BIOS updates.
To install/uninstall the DisplayLink video driver silently (e.g. via SCCM or a batch script) you will need to use the DisplayLink corporate installer guide:
They also have a support tool which can be used to generate a log file which can then be forwarded to DisplayLink for their investigation or sent to us.
Our Pen Tablets use so few resources that we consider any computer that can operate a mouse and keyboard should be compatible with our tablets and drivers.
DisplayLink provide information about system compatibility with their graphics driver, which is required for some of our tablets (for more details see the overview below):
Please note that these 2 video drivers are mutually incompatible and cannot normally be installed together (it may be possible on the very latest version of Windows 10 but is not recommended).
For the DTU 1031X download the UV-A8301 USB 2.0 Display Adapter published on MCT"s Web site. (Please note that the MAC driver included in the download file is not compatible with the 1031X).
For the DisplayLink driver you should see an item called "DisplayLink Core Software" in "Programs and Features". On old releases you will also see "DisplayLink Graphics"
The 1031X driver will appear in "Programs and Features" on your PC as "Trigger External Graphics Family...." - see the screenshot at the bottom of this page.
Once the relevant drivers are installed please check that the "Wacom Professional Service" service is running in Windows Services - if not please start it manually.
The pen is calibrated - the calibration dialogue should appear automatically the first time you touch the pen on the tablet - if it does not please run it from the Wacom Control Panel
For this please download the UV-A8301 USB 2.0 Trigger Family Display Adapter. (Please note that the MAC driver included in the download file is not compatible with the 1031X or AX).
All other DTU, DTH, and DTK tablets use a standard video connection such as DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, or USB Type-C and do not require a supplementary video graphics driver.
The DisplayLink and MCT drivers should not normally be installed together on the same PC because they are incompatible - in fact they mutually exclude each other at installation time.
With older releases of Windows installation of both drivers is not possible so in those cases the DTU 1031 and 1031X cannot be used together on the same computer.
It is very likely that the computer does not have the necessary SHA-2 driver signature support. This was distributed through Windows updates, and the customer can review their installed updates to see if it"s installed.
SHA-2 driver signatures are required for all new hardware drivers produced after October 2014. SHA-2 driver signatures are native to Windows 8 and Windows 10, but not to Windows 7.
More information on this can be found in Microsoft"s Support articles for the associated KB updates here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/security-updates/securityadvisories/2015/3033929

Our anti-glare 4K screen and Pro Pen 2 work in harmony to create a completely natural pen-on-screen experience. Every stroke you make on the screen’s etched glass surface gives you that realistic sensation of pen on paper, while the wide color gamut lets you see your art in perfect detail.

As a creative professional, it pays to be comfortable at your desk. The new VESA mount enables you to mount your device to our optional Adjustable Stand (or other third-party arms) for enhanced stable support of your Wacom Cintiq Pro 16. The stand can be easily adjusted to your preferred position, so you can work in comfort and focus fully on your creativity.

I am a long time wacom user, starting with the intuos 4 medium back in 2010 then in 2012 I upgraded to the 22hd. At the end of june 2020 I upgraded to this 24 pro.
For over 7 years I heavily used the 22hd and logged a massive amount of drawing hours on it. If it were a car it would probably read over 300k miles by now. It was the darn near center of my life. Gaming, drawing, painting, study, reading, tv, shopping, watching cat videos on youtube, I did everything on it. Despite a few problems I was very happy with it and I had no plans to upgrade anytime soon. But then suddenly a dirty usb plug led me to falsely believe my 22hd was dying. So I did my research... said my prayers... and ordered a 24 pro.
Even though I don"t have 10bit color mode enabled yet, the color difference from 22hd was still immediately noticeable along with the larger screen and 4k. I had never seen a 4k screen before, and it absolutely blew me away when windows booted up the first time with my fun colorful desktop picture now brimming with a new vibrance and clarity I have never known. I figured getting a 4K cintiq would have to be an upgrade but I was not prepared to just how massive this upgrade would be. Working on large pieces of art like this is really nice. The color is a little more accurate on the 24 pro too. No more weird greenish yellows for me.
Games in 4k are absolutely mind blowing (well most games anyways) it is almost as visually shocking as the first time I tried VR, I kinda feel like I am almost really there. It"s beautiful eye melting clarity and I just love it. While my 1060gtx works great at 4k for drawing and doing work in windows, it is not strong enough to get more then a dozen fps or less in games unless I put everything but resolution to low (which oddly looks kinda cool in some games). If you can somehow find a 3060 rtx or better, you are going to have a great time with this display.
This screen is 60hz which is standard for most 4k displays. Even so I would love to see a 120hz or higher 4k cintiq someday, especially considering how expensive these cintiqs are. 4K gaming beyond 60fps is now a reality thanks to powerful new video cards coming out.
As impressive as the 4k resolution is, honestly the 2 more inches might be the single most useful thing about this coming from a 22hd, at least for drawing and doing work. I can"t say enough how much I love the extra space for the multitudes of open windows\apps I often have open. I don"t feel cramped anymore. You might think it better just to have 2 screens, but I prefer just 1 because everything is still "right there" for me, especially since you generally pull the cintiq close to you when working on it (a big screen in your face means you really have to turn your neck to see a 2nd screen off to the side).
The 24 pro seems to be the perfect size. I am not sure I would want larger as it becomes more of a struggle to reach up with the pen to the far sides of the screen.
Sadly I have 4 dead\stuck pixels (or are they dust?). A fair number of reviews seem to have the same problem, consider yourself lucky if yours is flawless. I decided to not make a fuss about it because at 4k these pixels are soo tiny I can only see them if I pull the screen close to my face and try hard to see them, and there is a strong chance a replacement would also has dead pixels anyways.
If the screen is very dark I can see some light bleed on the bottom middle of the screen. Not nearly as bad as some people seem to have it. For me the worst part is the 4 corners that have a GLOW\glare if I am watching a really dark tv show or playing a really dark game. I didn"t notice this much at first, but now that I"ve had more time to evaluate, it"s definitely there and can be a little rough on the eyes, and I now consider this to be the singular worst thing about the 24 pro, but it isn"t bad enough for me to call it a major problem, though some people get 24\32 pros with severe levels of this.
If wacom didn"t bother with the cintiq engine upgrade port (seriously who uses that?) they could have designed this whole thing to not need small noisy fans but large quiet ones instead that run at a lower rpm, or ditch the fans all together and just have heat pipes or something. You can set the fans to low or auto but it"s hardly any different at max brightness, and at lower brightness the LOW fan setting actually runs louder then auto does.
If their only real purpose is to keep the drawing surface cool, then it would be nice to have an option to disable them for people who want absolute silence or a new setting for "lower" cause low just isn"t low enough. I doubt they are actually needed to prevent the device from burning up cause I used it all july and it was hotter n hell in here with no AC, and everything is fine.
Compared to the 22hd it"s about the same experience, but slightly better. The etched glass screen has a slightly more toothy feel then the 22hd which is nice, and the parallax is improved. Drawing on a 22hd felt more like plastic on plastic. Even so, ultimately it"s mostly the same experience so it"s more about having that extra screen real estate and 4K UHD which is much nicer on the eyes then the old slightly blurry 1080p 22hd (it had aggressive anti-glare coating).
Some people said the new etched glass eats the felt pen nibs really fast, but I haven"t had a problem with that? I do draw with a feathery touch though, which is one of the best things about a cintiq vs a cheap tablet (it will actually register your lightest of strokes). Doing art on the 24 pro is magnificent.
I don"t see many people mention this in their reviews, and was trying to figure it out before buying, but yeah the 24 pro totally comes with a pen holder you can clip into in 1 of 2 spots on the top of the cintiq. Pretty handy. I was hoping it could be attached to the sides, but that"s a minor gripe as it does work good up top.
If it"s been off for hours, it doesn"t turn on when you click any button on it like it should have been designed, instead you have to awkwardly slide this really tiny and weird slider on the bottom to turn it on. It will automatically shut off after 15 minutes or so without use, and this is part of why it holds a charge that lasts a long time. I charge it maybe once a month though I don"t use it much.
There is a multitude of buttons on the remote, but it is terribly awkward to hit most of them when you hold it with 1 hand and drawing with your other hand. In reality only a few buttons are actually comfortable to hit quickly while working. They did their best to put braille like patterns to help you feel out which button your thumb is resting on, but because there is no spacing between buttons I often end up hitting 2 buttons at a time instead of 1 like I wanted.
The touch wheel is pretty bad just like I remember form the intuos 4, doing a horrible job at recognizing touch. I BADLY miss the superior old touch strip on the back of the 22hd, and I about cry every time I reach up to use it like I have for 7 years only to remember it"s not there anymore...
Touch strip down the middle of it. Buttons with some spacing between each key on the sides of the touch strip. Less buttons to hit sure, but are much more usable. The remote should automatically turn on by hitting any key on it- it shouldn"t even have nor need a manual slider for power.
I do love how the remote sticks to the bezel area left or right sides magnetically. That is really slick and professional. Though I find the magnets could use just a tiny bit more power, if the screen has been cleaned recently, it can slide down and eventually fall off especially if you tilt the screen down a bit, and the magnets are only on the middle (not top or bottom of the bezel area)
The charging usb cable works fine. It"s really short, but long enough to plug into the side of the cintiq and still have the remote magnetized to the bezel area (this works to either side). I wonder if they could make it charge from the magnetic field someday in the future and just forget the cable all together.
For just light sketching when I don"t need to use hotkeys very often, I love this remote, cause I and be wrapped up in a warm blanket on cold nights and have my left arm tucked away while still having access to some express keys.
The only touch buttons on the regular 24 pro are the top right ones on the bezel for accessing the display settings or other wacom settings (and an onscreen keyboard button). They glow with backlighting and look great against the black bezel. I really like this design and I am kinda surprised they didn"t expand on this idea more by adding touch express keys on the left and right sides of the bezel. A touch strip in this style on the front under where the remote sticks to would be about perfect for using your thumb on.
The official wacom vesa arm mount is expensive, and seeing as how I already had a ergotron LX which I got with my 22hd back in 2012 (it still works good!), I decided to buy the required steel plate so the 24pro could fit on it. If you don"t already have an arm mount, maybe consider the wacom one as it comes with everything you need and they claim it"s more sturdy and stable (less shake when drawing on it- not that it"s a major problem though).
Using an arm mount means you can put the screen in just about any position and angle you could ever want. Whether I am drawing, or gaming, or watching tv, reclined in my chair or not, I can always have the screen in the perfect position then easily push it back out of the way when done. I can"t say enough how wonderful this is. It"s a great reason to get a 22 or larger cintiq too just so you can do this. It"s all part of bringing drawing to your comfort zone, and I don"t know of a better way to achieve that.
I am impressed how well the 24 pro works compared to the 22hd. The pen handles the edges of the screen very well in every app I"ve tried, and stability is improved. I don"t find myself having to save and reload my custom settings to fix odd problems anymore. The only bug I"ve found is sometimes upon booting up, it fails to load the drivers properly (pen does nothing) which requires a restart- a minor inconvenience. The other bugs I run into are the fault of apps and not wacom from what I can tell.
I love working in 4k. It"s amazing for doing art, but also fun for gaming and tv too. Paired with a vesa arm mount it will become your best friend that goes on incredible journeys through the digital world with you. I am very happy I upgraded from my 22hd.
I am already hungry for the next gen cintiq"s that will hopefully fix the few existing problems and have other fun improvements like 100+hz, or 8k resolution. Those are probably some years away yet as wacom does not bring out a new line very often. If you want the best NOW in 2020, this is it, the pro line. Nobody else makes a 4k pen display that I can find, and wacom drivers have gotten to a point where they are pretty solid.
Even so, if you can live without 4k (you really can"t once you see it- I call it the 4k curse), and are new to this sport thus not sure art will become your new life, definitely consider a cheaper model or different brand. 800$ is much cheaper then 2000$ if you decide art isn"t for you. Do your research. I"ve been at this long enough to know what I want and need, and there is no question it"s the 24 pro. Also, if you have a need for touch, definitely pay extra to have it. This purchase is something you"ll live with for a number of years, so do it right the first time.
I would definitely advise you all to just pay a few hundred more to get one on amazon so you can at least return it\exchange if something is wrong. I like how many refurbed 24 pros they have on ebay for sale up against how few reviews of this product are out there. This pro line definitely has some manufacturing problems, so I would take this seriously. I don"t know how much we can fault wacom either for this generations problems. It must be really hard to make a 4k pen display, nobody else is doing it. I just hope the next gen cintiqs will be darn near flawless.
All those people who say intuos is better... I don"t get it. I"ve used both for years, and it"s night and day. It"s really hard to ink curves on an intuos. The disconnect that exists by drawing on a pad but looking up at a screen is not natural. It"s not the natural way to draw and it isn"t nearly as fun. You crazy people you! =)
The Wacom Intuos makes all the right compromises for an affordable drawing tablet aimed at beginners that feels capable enough to grow with your skills, and it’s our choice over any other similarly priced option. It was easy to set up and provided accurate and responsive lines from the get-go. The accompanying pen is comfortable enough for long drawing sessions, too. The Intuos is one of the most affordable of Wacom’s tablets, and its overall quality makes it a better value than any of the other graphics tablets we tested, including many with more features. It also comes with a few free software trials that may help you decide what tools are best for you (though we had trouble actually using some of these programs). The Intuos has a software and hardware warranty of two years, in contrast to the one-year warranties included with many other tablets.
Pitted against the non-Wacom tablets we tested, the Intuos offered more control, and we experienced no driver issues or input lag. Although some other tablets claim to offer two times as much pressure sensitivity—8,192 levels versus 4,096 on the Intuos—in practice we were better able to control line weights and thickness with the Wacom tablets. We found it easier to create consistently faint, medium, or dark lines (and to go from one extreme to the other) by varying the pressure we put on the pen.
The Intuos is a small tablet next to some of the competition, but many of our sources preferred the 6-by-3.7-inch active area. “It really helps to have a small compact tablet I can put in front of my laptop,” said Dami Lee. Others, like Cher Threinen-Pendarvis, chose medium tablets for their homes or studios and smaller tablets for travel. Unlike most tablets, the Wacom models have a dot grid printed on the surface that comes in handy when you’re creating artwork that requires precise scale; it can also provide a gentle guide for straight lines. In addition, the drawing surface is textured, so it feels natural, like using a pencil on paper, whereas the surface on the other tablets we tested felt slicker and more like plastic.
Like all of the most recent tablets we tested, the Intuos uses a battery-free stylus. The pen has a storage compartment for spare nibs and a nib extractor inside for when the tip of the pen starts to wear out, and it comes with three extra standard nibs. You can buy a pack of five standard nibs for around $5 as they wear out, or you can choose felt nibs for the same price if you prefer a different texture.
The Intuos lets you customize the pen and tablet to a much greater extent than tested tablets from other brands. In addition to giving you access to support and driver updates, Wacom’s Desktop Center software allows you to customize, back up, and restore tablet and pen functions. In the pen settings, for example, you can set the tip feel or pressure sensitivity. This is like choosing between a soft 2B pencil, which leaves a lot of graphite on the page, and a harder 2H pencil, which leaves lighter, cleaner lines and requires more force to make a mark. You can also adjust the pen’s double-click distance or how far away the pen can be before it registers with the tablet. On other tablets, you can often program pen sensitivity but not the more subtle tip feel.
You can map each of the pen’s buttons and the tablet’s keys to zoom in, right-click, erase, or switch applications. And you can even customize those options by individual program, so the top-left key on the tablet, for instance, could start the “Save for web” action in Photoshop (to replace the awkward Command+Alt+Shift+S keyboard shortcut) or cycle through brush attributes when you’re working in Corel Painter.
Yeah I am Dual Monitor Tablet, I like to keep my tools on a second screen since I rarely look at the tools as I use shortcuts the majority of the time. Thanks you, your imput is really fantastic.
A- If I used a touch monitor on a horizontal surface if that would be just as good as a graphics tablet, if not better because it"s 27" and vertical. You bring up a good point about double click and and also for me right click on the mouse I find faster on the tablet mouse. Currently I have an Intuos Tablet and use the mouse to draft and the Pen to photo shop/ sketch.
Currently my Lap top screen is my tool bar monitor. I have an HD 23" Monitor that I use for my drawing space. One reason I was thinking of using the 27" Acer was to use it with a pen and horizontal - I fear the double click and right click ill be even more of an issue.
