The product is solid built and with fan built in helps dissipate the heat generated when inside a plastic box ( that I added my own two fans to the box inline so one draws air in box other pushes air out ) but coupled with third fan built in to this board over heating is not an issue when driving a 55lbs trolling motor. I would have preferred them to use either 18awg wires on the pot knob and forward/reverse wiring the small 24awg wire they do use makes it difficult to add length to short wire it comes with, better yet I wish they would use set screw style modular plugs so if you did like in my case need to add length to the wire you could do so with out having to splice wire. The battery / motor terminals could use a little more spacing as well when using 8awg wire like I did to go to battery and trolling motor even using the smallest ring style #10 size you still only have very little daylight in between them which could short so I put slices of heat shrink in between as I installed to insure that does not happen. One last thing I would say is the board is clearly marked for battery positive and negative but the motor is not marked for positive and negative it just says motor for both terminals, this may not be a polarity sensitive board hence the reason it’s not marked accordingly but other boards I have gotten were and if you reversed them it would fry the board. So I went with guess of putting motor positive as the one next to battery positive and the same for negative one, all worked out fine so far with dry test run but I am just hoping for quality to hold for the long run but time will tell that so for now if all holds again I give them five stars but would really enjoy seeing the small corrections I noted on future board that really shouldn’t add cost to them but would make for a more user friendly board which might get them more sells and less customers upset that board got fried in the install.
