It worked well for me. I ordered the unit with the frame. Everything I read said that is the way to go as the frame is not easy to get off the old unit and adhesive it required to attach it to the new.

It does not come with the speaker grills. They are not all that easy to remove from the old and put into the new. I actually further broke the old display to get them out without damaging them. If you do this wear appropriate safety gear to avoid injury from the broken glass shards and do so at your own risk.

Some reports say if you push the speaker grills straight in, they will pop in. I tried and tried but I had to file the clips down just a little with a nail file. I filed down both the width and length just a little. After that they did pop in and seem to stay in so far. I"ve seen suggestions of glueing them in but I did not as I was worried of glue going where I didn"t want it to go. Hopefully they will not fall out with time. I"d given this product 5 stars if they came with pre-installed speaker grills.

Other than that, the instructions on YouTube don"t show the need to move the LCD shield, the rubber boots for speaker/microphone or the front camera flash. Those were all easy to move over. I ended up ordering adhesive for the back. You can find custom cut adhesive or even totally new backs with adhesive attached. On-line instructions suggest just using double sided tape. But the custom adhesive is the way I"m going to go. Hopefully will work well by not ending up in the wrong place or being too thin.

Once everything was back together it works as good as new. Some reports say don"t over tighten the 20 T4 torx screws or you could end up with some display issues.

I"ve done a lot of this kind of work before. Found this to be easy compared to some phones. Taking off the back was the worst but if you go so and are careful, not a problem. Snapping and unsnapping flex connectors (the lego like snap connectors) are a little tricky. On the Moto X Pure you can"t really see when they are lined up correctly and can"t snap them together until they are. You kind of have to go by feel. One could easily damage these connectors and if you do.... you are SOL.

Edit: I repaired a second phone and the speaker grills came out rather easily and were not too difficult putting back into the new display with out modification. So, it seems, your mileage may vary.
