If P06 and P07 parameters are not correctly set for your wheel size and motor type, then the value displayed is not correct. However, the seller can tell correct setting if you ask. -1 Star : The speed reading and distance recorded only show when motor is ON. This means that if you are not on Throttle or PAS the speed shows as 0 and distance is not accumulating. I"m not sure if this is because of the display itself or the motor does not provide speed/distance reading when it is OFF, but having this feature ON even when motor does not provide power for propulsion would be helpful. The controller is programmed to react to the voltage levels in the signal wire the same as if that were the throttle signal wire. You should be able to use either of the two settings. Although I said power levels above, they"re actually speed levels. In Chinese, gear means speed.
