My D810 is pretty new. When I took off the BM-12 monitor cover (1st time it had been off of this camera), the LCD monitor was pristine. I simply used my rocket blower to blow away the little bits of dust and micro fibers I saw (I used a magnifying glass to check). I then removed the protective plastic (or whatever material) shield (side A) from the glass protector and placed it on the camera’s LCD.

Anyway, I carefully aligned it as best I could and then placed it down. As luck would have it, the placement was good and I didn’t have to move or reapply. I just watched the glass… well, the best way I can describe it is it sort of melted into the camera’s LCD monitor, from the center out to the edges. I didn’t do anything… just kinda sat there and watched it. Very strange indeed.
