-Black lines on the LG V20 screen are something that cannot be fixed with a software repair. It"s a hardware issue and will require change the digitizer/display or receiving a new device.

-A LCD Problem. Backlight bleeding most commonly occurs when this light is not 100% blocked, allowing excess light to "bleed" around the edges of the LCD panel. This backlight bleeding issue leaves spots of lighter areas on a dark background. It"s a Quality control problem. You can contact your local support and ask for a device change.
-Sometimes the screen flickering problem can be fixed by Sony official software, but if there’s no official solution for it, you can also try reconnecting the screen flex cable, causing the flex cable may be loosen when accidentally drop or hit.
However, if software ways above and flex cable reconnection cannot fix those screen problems, then you should turn to the hardware solution: change a new screen. How to replace LG V20 screen? Here we also provide a video repair guide for LG V20 screen replacement.

And you"re the one who keeps bringing up Samsung, not me.
And enough with the 2TB as card support already, this is a perfect example of you manipulating and over exaggerating the facts. Again you"re probably just repeating what the clever salesman told you so he could reduce his stock of unsold v20"s by two units. The fact that you bought two means you"re probably going to be heavily biased. Would you trust a review of the v20 written by LG? You might as well work for them.
Anonymous, 30 Jan 2018Nope. I just want people to have a realistic expectation of what to expect from this phone. ... moreYou really spend an awful lot of time criticizing the V20 and telling potential buyers they don"t need the V20"s multitude of features when the main reason why they even bother considering an old 2016 flagship phone from LG is because they want removable batteries, ir blaster, dedicated sd card support and FM radio - all of which are absent in virtually all of the newer flagships.
Anonymous, 30 Jan 2018Nope. I just want people to have a realistic expectation of what to expect from this phone. ... moreSo you are saying that real owners of the V20, those who actually own and use their V20"s every single day do not have realistic experiences to suggest to potential buyers what to expect from the V20? You mean to say your viewpoint, as one who has never used and owned a single V20 more realistic? You want potential buyers of the V20 believe your adverse viewpoint of the V20 more because it is "more realistic" than viewpoints from true V20 owners? Why don"t you tell potential buyers here why your S7 is a better buy the V20? Just what is in your Samsung that is "superior" to the V20?

I just want people to have a realistic expectation of what to expect from this phone. If they buy based on your words alone you will find the disappointed outnumbering the satisfied as you try to paint a perfect picture which no phone is.
When I shop for a phone I want good battery life (I don"t care if its removable or sealed it just has to last on one charge) and a great screen and great camera. The v20 ticks the great camera box but the screen is actually less bright than the G4"s and the battery life is average at best.
Did you hear LG"s mobile division lost money again? I don"t think there will be any more updates for the v20. This is the trade off on the deal you got, or the deal you think you got.

Owners of newer flagship phones criticizing the V20 only mean one thing: that the V20 is a phone that is truly still relevant even in 2018; a still very capable competitor even with newer flagships around. Why else would anyone criticize a flagship phone that is more than a year old when there are other older flagship phones that are priced similarly? Is it guilt feelings? buyers remorse? or perceived threat or competition from a phone that has all you could ever ask for in a flagship at unbelievably low price?

I suggest using Lux app for auto brightness control. My lux app brightness profile editor settings are as follows: 0 lux : 5% brightness, 6Lx:18%, 30Lx:35%, 300Lx:45%, 1680Lx:84%, 3000Lx:100%. Try these settings. They are very comfortable to the eyes and give you the added benefit of better battery life.

The V20 is one of the biggest 5.7" screen phone ever built AND it feels great in the hands, too? Wow! Great, now tell me you can easily use the phone one handed and reach the secondary ticker screen.
Ok, now tell me how it"s got the best screen and best battery life off a single charge, and you need to say something about how waterproofing is a useless feature because the v20 doesn"t have that therefore it"s a useless gimmick. You also need to say something about how all future versions of Android won"t be as good as nougat since you won"t be getting anymore updates.
Rimac , 28 Jan 2018Considering the new airs of good sense that for the consumers blow in LG, it is very possible ... moreROTFL they will never launch a "V20 SE" unless they want to lose more money. The styling and design didn"t sell phones in 2016 and it for sure won"t sell in 2018.

Anonymous, 27 Jan 2018I don"t know about Huawei but if you Google it you can see people comparing the V20"s 16:9 to ... moreI used my Samsung Note4 for 4 years until the motherboard broke this December. I still plan on fixing it though if that hadn"t happened, I"d still be happily using it presently but got a V20 & I"m happy.
Regarding what you said about the V20; "the V20 definitely does not feel good in the hand", well let me tell you that you most likely have tiny hands.
To be honest, I would say I got tiny hands as well but coming from a Note4 with measurements of: 153.5 x 78.6 x 8.5 mm & now onto the V20"s 159.7 x 78.1 x 7.6 mm I can assure you I have much more pleasure holding this V20 vs the Note4. If it weren"t for the Note4"s big side bezels, it would be good to hold as well. The Note5 was the perfect size but was hardware raped so I never upgraded until I got the Note7 but we all know what happened with that.
I also had a case since day 1 on my Note4 and over the years I have been using it I managed to use the Note4 with 1 hand and my V20 also has a case and it"s still much slimmer in width than the Note4 with its case on therefore I"m very happy with what I got.
Last but not least, I"m actually even contemplating purchasing another V20 because its a true all-in-one device. It is basically the Note4"s big brother and is a true future proof all-in-one hardware wise device.
Finally, phones are not worth more than $400 or £300 - that"s why I bought my Note4 in New condition for £400 and my V20 for £260 so I could care less about all the greed money poured into Research & Development & all the fanatic marketing trying to lure people in & force them into paying $1000+ for a phone every year.
Anonymous, 27 Jan 2018I don"t know about Huawei but if you Google it you can see people comparing the V20"s 16:9 to ... moreYou really need to brush up on your high school geometry (Pythagorean theorem) to see that for the SAME diagonal screen size, a 16:9 screen has bigger area than an 18:9 of the same diagonal (hypotenuse). In addition to the smaller screen area, you are NOT effectively using the screen estate because of black bars galore. Few apps support 18:9, photos look smaller, videos look smaller for the screen size/diagonal as compared to the same screen diagonal but in a 16:9 aspect ratio. I don"t have to repeat and explain ad infinitum why this is so. Just review your math. Now an aspect ratio change does not make a phone useless and obsolete. So yes, I am happy to have bought two V20"s for myself and another family member. We"ll be using them for as long as they are functional like they are PC"s with a 5-6 year upgrade cycle because there is simply no reason to. They have everything that makes them last long (removable storage, dedicated sd card support and ips display which are rated 10 years by the way). 2022? Yes, why not? If no worthy successor comes up with removable batteries, dedicated sd card, ir blaster and FM radio. By then, 2TB cards will be available and so cheap I won"t have storage problems.

There are photos on Google images and you can see for yourself you can see more on a 18:9 screens. You need look at it it"s just a 16:9 screen that"s grown up and down to eliminate the bezels. Those black bars on youtube videos should be looked at as being soft or virtual bezels. The reason why you don"t have black bars is because your phone has physical plastic bezels there. The phones are slightly narrower because it makes holding the phone much easier. Phones were getting to be too wide and the v20 definitely does not feel good in the hand just like how my g pro 2 didn"t either.
Again you bought two v20s so it means you"re either really smart or you"re really really really... not smart. Unfortunately only time will tell but if I had to bet I"d pick the latter! Personally I don"t think any phone is good enough to buy two of. Its such a fast paced industry that usually requires an upgrade every 2-3 years. Can I ask how many years you plan to get out if two v20"s? Are you really still going to be using this phone in 2022?

In fact, it doesn"t run across the entire width making the V20 screen strictly a 16:9, 5.7" screen. This runs in contrast to 18:9 screens that truly waste space. Big black bars top and bottom when displaying photos and videos in portrait; big black bars left and right (when displaying 16:9 videos and photos in landscape). Keyboard is very cramped, very narrow in portrait, and too squished/flattened when in landscape. Full website viewing is horrible. Facebook photo feeds look a lot smaller despite the screen diagonal size increase. Text content is less dense because of the smaller screen area compared to an equivalent 16:9 screen with the same diagonal. You only need to compare side by side the Mate 10 with 5.9" 16:9 screen with the Mate 10 PRO with 6.0" screen in 18:9 to realize how much total screen area is lost and how much screen space is really wasted by black bars galore. Manufacturers do this to continue selling new phones. The biggest screen sizes in flagships are equated with being the top 1 phone with size superiority and bragging rights much like how motorbikes are perceived. Hapless buyers think they are getting more when they are actually getting less and paying more for bigger and more black bars.

So once again your double standards shine!
"Everything the v20 has the best, everything else including newer, more popular features are gimmicks and unnecessary." How nice of you to put words on my mouth. Read my previous post again why I said the V20 will not become useless with 5G. And I never implied technology upgrades are gimmicks.4G to 5G is not. Elongating the screen and putting fragile curves in a phone just so it will appear "sleek and sexy" is not technological advancement.
