well, mine stopped displaying text after nearly 5 years. i got my mk3 12/18/2017. and it stopped displaying text 12/6/2022. That"s a decent amount of time. It was always on, the backlight still works just not the text display. I"m satisfied with that kind of lifespan.

My first printer was an idex dual extruder printer from another unnamed company that cost some €2600 back in 2017 or so (suppose its simple to find out). That printer was the biggest waste of time and money in my life. I had 9 out of 10 prints fail completely and the one that did make it looked like crap. The support was as worthless as the printer. Then after two years or so I sold it at a great loss as a scrap printer.Greatly frustrated I almost gave up on 3D printing all together. I thought I couldn"t handle it. Then I decided to get a Prusa i3 MK3s kit as a last try. I built it together and the fist print I made (a benchy) was perfect directly after the first calibration. Since then I had only about 0.1% prints fail (mostly just due to something simple like bed adhesion which is fixed fast by cleaning it). All prints are near perfect. It just runs. Sometimes I start a print and walk away forgetting about it. Then I surprise myself finding the finished beautiful part in the chamber. For me it was a game change and put back my faith in 3d printing.

Each layer"s shape is displayed as a semi-transparent mask on an LCD screen, and the exposure is performed employing a high-performance UV LED. UV light can pass only through white pixels on the display. Due to the fixed resolution of the LCD display, the printed objects have a fixed XY resolution. Creality 3D printers are manufactured in China, while Prusa Research is located in the Czech Republic. Due to lower costs of labor and easier access to other manufactured parts, 3D printers manufactured in China cost less to produce and can support a lower price point. In addition, the Prusa MK3S+ uses 3D printed parts in the construction of the printer. This has a number of advantages for Prusa, such as the ability to iterate quickly on part updates, and is a way for Prusa to extensively test their printers when manufacturing these parts. However, 3D printing at scale is more expensive than traditional manufacturing methods such as injection molding.

For parts that they do not 3D print, Prusa focuses primarily on part quality with cost as a secondary consideration. For example, Prusa uses premium parts for the linear rail system and name-brand Bondtech and E3D components for the extruder and hot end. Creality takes a more balanced approach with the Ender 3 S1 Pro, and reduces cost by producing parts themselves, such as the CR-touch leveling sensor and a Creality branded power supply. Creality has historically focused on cost first, but we have seen that the higher-end printers like the Ender 3 S1 Pro do strike a good balance between quality and cost savings.

It is clear from the moment you open the MK3S+ that Prusa puts a lot of effort into testing and quality control. For our assembled unit, a checklist and test results sheet were included which showed all of the testing that they performed before shipping the unit. Additionally, the printer shipped with a completed test print on the bed, indicating that they run an actual print test on each unit they produce. Creality printers do not go through as rigorous of testing, and in some cases there will be small issues that require adjustment. In our experience of purchasing over 30 Creality printers at retail, we have noticed small QC issues on 10-15% of the printers.

Improved quality control is not free, and is likely a contributing factor in Prusa’s higher price point. The bottom line is that if you prefer to pay more to get a machine that will almost certainly work out of the box without any defects, the Prusa MK3S+ is more geared toward you.

In a similar vein, Prusa provides a much better support experience than Creality. After purchasing a printer, it is easy to get in touch with Prusa’s dedicated support team through their site, since you are buying directly from the manufacturer. With Creality, getting support is more difficult since you will be purchasing through a 3rd party like Amazon. If there are major defects with the printer, Amazon is very good about providing replacement units, however you will not be able to get assistance in repairing issues, and needing to do a full replacement can be a frustrating experience.

1) If you insert the SD card to the LCD panel, are you able to access it through the LCD? If not, you need new cables or just take a look at them if they are not damaged (mainly it gets damaged when anchoring to the threaded rods with zipties) so please check that and let me know.

1.) I inserted the SD card as it came, and the LCD shows "no SD inserted" when i take it out and plug it back in. I dont have a card reader on hand at the moment to try it with actual data on it ?(If it doesnt already come with anything?)

You are nearly ready to print! In order to do so find the file that you want to be printed. If it is an STL file, convert the STL file to a gcode file. This converts the 3D model into actual printing instructions for your 3D printer. Do this by downloading Slic3r: Prusa Edition, a gcode conversion tool.

In the main menu of Slic3r: Prusa Edtition open the STL file you wish to convert. From here, find the "Export gcode" button. Select the file that you want to convert and save it as a gcode file.

Your Prusa i3 Mk2 printer will now begin printing your chosen object! No further work is required from you after this point, just remember that the printing time for your desired object may vary based on the size and intricacy of your file.

Firstly there are the options, parts for the printer can be printed from files downloaded from the Prusa site and then with a bit of time and effort you can collect together all the bits you need to build your own.

Although the MK3S looks much like the MK2 and original, there are some significant differences, and the MK3S has been designed and upgraded based on user feedback. The S model is a slightly souped-up version of the MK3.

The Original Prusa i3 MK3S is one of the cheapest 3D printers on the market when it comes to a balance of print quality and reliability. The design has a lot to do with it, but there"s no scraping on the quality of the parts.

The standard was Nema 17, which were relatively cheap, Prusa now uses the highest quality and coupled them with Trinamic2130 drivers with cooling coming from Noctua fans. Adding a stealth mode, now makes this printer far quieter than the majority of other printers on the market.

When it comes to changing the filament select eject using the small LCD with the control board, and the filament pops out, and another filament can be installed.

Setting up the Original Prusa i3 MK3S was easy enough on Simplify3D and Cura, and of course, PrusaSlicer which has been purpose-built for the machine.

PrusaSlicer is relatively straight forward with the application running through the printer selection and options at the outset. It"s then just a case of loading your STL file ready for printing and selecting the quality options you want.

Another feature that has it"s used and helped to save on filament is the easy ability to swap filaments during printing.
