This procedure will show you guidelines of our best practice for installing shelf edge displays, such as Android based 23.1″ shelf screen, usually in retail stores, such as supermarkets.

Shelf displays, also known as shelf edge displays, shelf screens, stretch displays, electronic shelf displays, eShelves or e-shelves or other names are a kind of LCD bars which are mostly Android based and used to be mounted on a shelf. In mot cases in your most strategic point of the store, like the endcap.

In case your softlabels show a barcode or QR code, now is the time to confirm that it can be easily scanned: try to use a barcode scanner and/or smartphone app for scanning QR code. Repeat it several times just to make sure the barcode or QR code is sharp enough and clear.

In case you use a rail (usually, a metallic or plastic sleeve that on one side connects to the eShelf and on the other side connects to the shelf at the store), mount all the units to the rail at the lab, as this might be the most time consuming task in this list. All the power connections should be done on the rail (so the only thing to do at the store will be to connect the power in the edge of the rail to a power supply unit). When using the shelf tag 2 rail, you can connect up to 4 shelf screens to the rail and to the same power supply (please calculate the amperage you need for that).

Make sure you have enough spare parts (accessories) and shelf displays in your stock, in case something is missing or one of the displays or power supplies becomes defected.

Tasks to be done at the venue (store) BEFORE performing the installation:Confirm that the WiFi of the store covers the installed section of the store. For that, take one shelf display to the store and try to connect with it to the WiFi (using your smartphone or laptop for that is not effective since the shelf displays’ WiFi antenna has a shorter range).

Prepare the electricity infrastructure on the site (take enough manpower to assist you with that – you will definitely need the store’s full assistance with that). Make sure you have enough amperage capacity to feed ALL the shelf display you’ll install (other wise when you power up the last ones, some will start blinking and won’t work).

You might want to remove products from the shelves. Best way to do it is to remove all products from one row, then install the shelf screens on that row, then return all products back to those shelves.

Make sure that the products on the shelves are aligned accurately above each shelf compared where the soft labels appear on the LCD bars. Do it after installing each row.

In case the WiFi wasn’t preconfigured before, now is the time to do so, while installing the shelf displays. If they’re not attached to rail yet, connect them to the WiFi, one by one. If they were already mounted over a rail, then set the WiFi only after mounting them on the shelf and after the power was connected. You do it after mounting each row.

Browse Shelf – This service enables users to visually browse a library shelf in relation to the selected record so that users may find other items that are related to their search. For configuration information, see Configuring the Browse Shelf Service.

By default, Browse Shelf displays physical items that appear together on a virtual bookshelf. If you prefer, you can also display electronic material, which is based on call numbers from bibliographic headings, not just the holdings (for physical items).

This clothing rack is also attached to the wall and ground using the Flange fitting. The horizontal bar for hanging clothing is created using the Single Socket Tee fitting. Finally, a shelf at the top is attached to the frame using the M50 fitting.

This wall mounted clothing rack at Pure Barre Roseville spans nearly the entire height of the wall. It"s quite an elaborate design that incorporates bars for hanging clothing and integrated shelving. The rack is attached to the wall using the Flange fitting and shelves are added by placing boards across intersections made possible using the Single Socket Tee fitting.

Again, we can see a similar design here as in the previous example. In addition to the wall mounted racks, a free standing shelving unit is also created using Kee Klamp fittings. Flange fittings are used for the shelf base. The Side Outlet Elbow fitting and 90 Degree Side Outlet Tee fitting are used to create the corners in the shelf frame.

These clothing racks are featured in Beige"s retail stores. They"re mounted to the wall using the Flange fitting and a Single Socket Tee fitting is used to connect the horizontal bar.

These clothing racks featured in Laced Up retail stores are entirely free standing and feature a bar for hanging clothing. They also feature an added shelf for displaying shoes. The base of the clothing rack is created using the Flange fitting while the 90 Degree Elbow fitting is used to create the bends.

This single bar clothing rack features a "box-like" appearance and structure to create a more "heavy-duty" rack. The 90 Degree Elbow and Singlet Socket Tee fittings are used in this rack.

These clothing racks at San Lorenzo Bikinis" retail store features two levels, each with four bars for hanging clothing. The pipe and fittings were painted white to match the store aesthetic. A Collar fitting is used at each pipe end (used for hanging clothing) to keep clothing from sliding off.

This rolling clothing rack features a single bar for hanging clothing and two shelves for folded clothes. This specific design use pre-bent pipe but the 90 Degree Elbow could be used in its placed when using straight pipe. Also, while this design uses a different style of casters, our Kee Klamp Casters make it easy to add casters to pipe (they slide right into the exposed pipe end).

This rolling shelf is used to display stackable merchandise. Casters on the bottom of the frame slide into the exposed end of pipe and provide for easy mobility. If you like this project, I"d also recommend checking out this DIY rolling bookcase. It has a similar design and may work for your application.
