When I reinstalled the screen the lights on the side come on but the screen is black with a small gray area on the left bottom side of the display. Phone turns on and receives calls and appears to be working properly but does not show anything on the screen. I don’t know if I too much heat while trying to remove the screen.

Your Touchscreen is OK. The Display is Gone Faulty. Replace with Combo Set. Also Install a Protective Gorilla Glass of the Duplicate Combo for Safety as they are very delicate.

Don’t switch ON the Phone it Shorting May Happen. Disassemble the Phone Completely and Clean with Tinner or IPA Properly. Assemble Back and Check. If the Problem is NOT Solved then Disassemble again and Apply Liquid Flux All Over and Board and Give Heat. Assemble Back and Check. If the Problem is still NOT Solved then the Phone is Short. Sir I bought a mobile phone (brand new). After a week or more it gave me a problem that it automatically restarts. I gave it to its authorised customer care centre for repairing. They refreshed its software but now it is giving me another problem which is that whenever I use it on full brightness its screen starts flickering but after a close observation I observed that it only flickers at grey colour family area i.e where ever there is grey colour on my lcd it flickers at maximum brightness.
