I installed the latest display driver ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600 (8.432, on the site of Toshiba through Tempo) on my Satellite Pro P200 yesterday. Reboot, everything seems good as much as the screen "Please wait...". "Windows Vista professional, but instead of showing the page of connection I get an empty screen (with a mouse cursor that moves around as usual). All I can do at this point is to be able to, and I"m running out of ideas on how to move forward.
I can run a system command line options of recovery and prefer to use it to disable the driver + if + I knew how before the use of the more radical options.
After a month since the laptop purchase date, I had a problem with my screen (a black point aprox. 1 mm size - not dead pixels but something like a bug between plans display, perhaps between the trubright and the lcd screen, whatever it is these plans I don"t know not-on the side rear of the screen, on the lower part), solved by Toshiba customer service using the replacement of the screen.
Since yesterday I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite A200 - 14 d. I left my laptop in full of energy and on the current for a while (about 30-40 min). When I got home, it was in standby mode (I"m with XP, btw). I pressed a key on the keyboard to exit this state of power, but all of a sudden the screen blinked, half of it went dark, then the other is too much and that"s it. I thought it may have overheated or something like that, even if it was lit for an hour or less... I turned it off using THE button, left for about 15 minutes cool down a bit... After that I turned it on, but it"s the same thing. While the Toshiba logo was displayed, the screen does the same thing and it went dark... But what I"ve noticed ofter an hour invesitgating, that he was not completely black. I thougth the display is off, but when I took the my lamp office and turned on the screen I was surprised to find, that I could see my office and the other stuff. Very dark, but everything was visible, even I was able to read things with black letters on white background... But when I turned off the light, everything was dark again... I tried to run some programs and everything works great - no problems at all except that I could not see most of the things that have happened to the screen.

I need to get rid of vista on my new laptop preinstalled and was going to put Win XP. Of course, Win XP doesn"t have SATA support. I"ve read on how to do (i.e. nlite drivers during the installation of Win XP disk in some way), but I could not find the drivers for it on the web page of Toshiba. Could someone please help and point me to the correct driver for this machine?
The European Toshiba page provides this crib of storage, but you can also download it from the page of Intel. Simply search for Intel Matrix Storage Manager.
I have a couple of months it has installed Ubuntu 9.04 (which completely replaces Windows XP) on my Toshiba A350-122 and this worked perfectly, until a recent day.
You can connect your laptop to an external display to see if the same thing will happen. If this isn"t the case, it is the best evidence for my theory.
Imagine that my screen is a sand. And when I put for example a flat color on my screen, I can see that not all pixels are in the same color. Some of them are a bit more clear and other slightly more dark. It is a very small difference, but I see this difference. And I don"t know what is normal thing or my matrix display is damaged in some way. ?
