Nvidia revealed its new RTX 3000 line of Ampere-powered GPU earlier this month, featuring the RTX 3090, 3080, and 3070 cards. The new 3000 series is the second generation of RTX graphics cards that will run features like real-time ray tracing with much higher performance than current RTX cards. Here"s what we know about each card so far, including specs, price, release date, and more.

The RTX 3080 is set to launch on September 17 for $700 USD, and the RTX 3070 was also revealed with a release window in October and a price of $500. The massive high-end card, the RTX 3090, is said to be capable of 8K resolution at 60 FPS performance--the RTX 3090 will launch on September 24 and pricing starts at a whopping $1500. RTX 3000 series pre-orders are not yet available, but Nvidia"s website does have a "notify me" button if you"re eager to place an order. Traditionally, a new line of GPUs sells out quickly when they first go up for pre-order, and that could easily be the case here due to Nvidia"s surprisingly aggressive pricing.

Compared to the Turing-based RTX 2080, the Ampere-based RTX 3080 will be built with 30 shader-TFLOPS (2.7x), 58 RT-TFLOPS (1.7x), and 283 Tensor-TFLOPS (2.7x). Plenty of other details were given in Nvidia"s reveal video, which you can watch a clip of below.

Also during the Nvidia stream, we learned that Fortnite will add ray tracing and DLSS support on PC. The company also showcased Cyberpunk 2077"s ray tracing effects and shared a Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War trailer to show off ray tracing. Black Ops Cold War will be a cross-generational and cross-play release, with players able to enjoy the game together regardless of platform. It"s out November 13.

So this now means there is a variant of the RTX 3080 for over US$1,000 (ROG Strix RTX 3080 White OC -US$1,049.99) and there is a mention of the white version of the RTX 3070 priced at a whopping US$779.99. That latter graphics card had a launch price of US$499 for the basic design when it was released in October.

Today there are some new RTX 30 series GPU prices from Amazon and Woot that are rocking the deal world. The ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, often considered the best RTX 3080 on the market, is on sale for under $800. If even that isn"t enough, you can pick up an even more powerful RTX 3090 for under $1K.

The GeForce RTX 3080 GPU really doesn"t need any introduction. This is the de facto card to get if you plan to run current generation games at 4K, since it"s up to 50% faster than the previous generation RTX 2080 SUPER and doesn"t command the exorbitant price of the RTX 3080 Ti or RTX 3090 (both of which are a mere 3%-5% faster in real world performance). It has an HDMI 2.1 port for passing through 4K @ 120Hz, which it has the power to drive even in resource hungry games like Elden Ring, Battlefield 2042 or Cyberpunk 2077.

The ASUS ROG STRIX model is considered by many to be the very best RTX 3080 variant on the market. It"s usually hundreds of dollars more than the 3080 FE price. That"s in large part because of the incredible cooling potential of the massive 3-slot heatsink combined with the quietest triple fan cooling you"ll find on any RTX 3080. Despite the low noise levels, the ROG STRIX offers a significantly OC"ed 1890MHz boost clock compared o the stock 1710MHz boost on the 3080 FE. This model also comes with 12GBof GDDR6X VRAM instead of the 10GB of VRAM that comes standard and most other RTX 3080 GPUs.

EVGA"s XC3 Ultra model is a "smaller" dual slot heatsink with triple fan cooling and a protective metal backplate. It has approximately similar dimensions as the 3080 FE, so it can fit in smaller or more restrictive cases. It boasts a modest 1755Hz Boost overclock compared ot the stock 1710MHz Boost on the 3080 FE.

EVGA"s FTW3 Ultra model comes equipped with a ridiculously large triple slot heatsink with triple fan cooling and a protective metal backplate. This amount of dissipation allows the card to run cooler and quieter than the reference model RTX 3080 FE. This also enables the FTW3 Ultra model to have a bit more aggressive 1800MHz Boost overclock. Lastly and certainly the least important detail, let"s not forget about the RGB lighting. There"s enough there to make this card stand out in both traditional and vertical orientations.

If you were to purchase this 3090 graphics card purely for gaming, even at this discounted price, I"d say your money would be better spent on one of the RTX 3080 deals above. You"d be saving at least $200 and losing only about 5%-10% in terms of performance. Although the RTX 3090 is indeed a best-in-class gaming card, it"s not really intended for gamers; it"s catered towards professional graphic artists, animators, modelers, software engineers, or data scientists who run render farms, intensive workstation applications like Maya or 3ds Max, or machine learning. The RTX 3090 is the workstation GPU of choice not because of its processing power (which it has in spades), but the amount of VRAM. The RTX 3090 comes with a massive 24GB of GDDRX RAM compared to the RTX 3080"s "paltry" 10GB-12GB. Unfortunately, however, the vast majority of games will not benefit from the increased VRAM, and that"s why it"s not the best purchase for the end gamer.

If you"re looking to buy a prebuilt gaming PC with high-end RTX 30 series graphics, this deal cannot be ignored. For only $1350, HP is offering an HP OMEN gaming PC with 11th gen Intel Core i7 unlocked CPU, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU, and a whopping 32GB of RAM. You could easily spend hundreds more elsewhere to get the same kind of specs.

This isn"t exactly as cheap as Amazon Prime Day of $109, but it"s still $50 cheaper than MSRP and the best price you"ll probably see for a while. The newest Apple TV features two major upgrades. It boasts an A12 Bionic processor that boosts graphics performance, video decoding, and audio processing and delivers high frame rate HDR with Dolby Vision. It also includes a new Apple TV remote. The overall build quality is better than before, but the biggest enhancements are a 5-way clickpad, mute button, and dedicated power button that works for your TV, receiver, and Apple TV.

These Razer smart glasses retail for a ridiculous $199.99. Fortunately, they"re on sale today for a much more reasonable price of $48.96. The Razer Anzu glasses comes with two types of interchangeable lenses; blue-light filtering lenses for PC use and polarized lenses for outdoor use. They also feature a built-in mic and bluetooth speaker for hands-free calling.

Walmart is offering an outstanding deal on the new Lenovo Legion 5 Pro laptop that is also equipped with the 12th generation Intel Core i7 Alder Lake CPU and RTX 3070 GPU. The RTX 3070 GPU in this gaming laptop also has a TGP rating of 140W, and it performs as well as the MSI Crosshair on paper. In real world benchmarks, the Legion 5 Pro is one of the best performing gaming laptops on the market. It also looks more like a standard laptop, so you might want to pick this over the Crosshair if you"re not into the gamer aesthetic.

The XPG Gammix S70 Blade is the least expensive 1TB PS5 compatible SSD available right now. Just because it"s the cheapest doesn"t mean it"s the slowest. In fact, the S70 is actually one of the fastest SSDs available with transfer rates up to 7,400 MB/s. It"s on par with the likes of the WD Black SN850, the Samsung 980 Pro, or the Seagate Firecude 530. This is a PCIe Gen4 SSD that was pretty much released specifically for PS5 gamers in order to double or triple the storage capacity of their PS5 without limiting the speed. Nvidia quietly released an update to its wildly popular RTX 3080. It’s not too big of an improvement, adding an extra 2GB of video memory and a slight bump in core count. Now that we’ve had a chance to test out the 12GB RTX 3080, we’re going to see how it stacks up to the original model.

It’s no secret that the RTX 3080 is one of the best graphics cards you can buy. If you want to see why it was so impressive when it launched, and why the updated 12GB struggles to stack up, make sure to read our full RTX 3080 review.

The 12GB RTX 3080 is an oddity. Nvidia didn’t formally announce it, instead silently launching the card in January 2022 — a week after announcing two other GPUs at CES. Unlike the 10GB model, Nvidia didn’t make a reference or Founder’s Edition model, and the company didn’t set a list price.

All we have to go on are the prices listed at retailers. The cheapest 12GB RTX 3080 models are around $1,249 — even more expensive than some RTX 3080 Ti models. On the high end, the cards scale up to $1,600. Many GPU manufacturers haven’t set list prices yet, though, patiently waiting to see what the cards sell for on the secondhand market.

Early signs show that cards are selling for a lot.  We’re seeing pricing between $1,500 and $1,800, which is quite a bit higher than the 10GB model. We may not have a list price for the 12GB RTX 3080 to compare to, but across retailers and the secondhand market, it’s selling for much more.

For availability, both cards are out of stock like the vast majority of GPUs. There are many more 10GB RTX 3080 models available, but most of them are over a year old. It’s tough to say if the larger stock of the 10GB model or the newness of the 12GB model is better for availability, but regardless, both cards are hard to find for a reasonable price.

Between the 12GB RTX 3080 and 10GB model, specs matter most. These are positioned as the same graphics card, with only minor differences between the two models. The starkest change is the extra 2GB of GDDR6X video memory on the 12GB model, but there’s a little more going on.

In addition to the extra video memory, the 12GB model features a 384-bit memory bus. Together, that increases the effective bandwidth to 912GB/s, which is a solid 20% increase over the 10GB model. The 12GB model actually matches the RTX 3080 Ti with the same memory configuration and bus size.

It’s an improvement, but as you’ll see in our benchmarks below, that doesn’t make a huge difference. Games have a hard time saturating the bandwidth of the 10GB RTX 3080, even at 4K. When it comes to performance improvements, the extra memory and bandwidth only matters when those areas are saturated, and most modern games don’t get anywhere close.

The more important changes come in cores and power, even if they’re not big. The 12GB RTX 3080 has a 3% bump in cores over the 10GB model, as well as a 30W boost to power. The extra cores bring a couple of extra ray-tracing cores, as well as a bundle of Tensor cores, though neither makes a large difference in gaming.

The only other change is the base clock speed. The 12GB RTX 3080 has a slightly slower base clock speed than the 10GB model. Graphics cards almost always run at their boost clock speeds unless there isn’t a large workload, so the base clock speed is largely irrelevant.

Although Nvidia has official specs for the 12GB RTX 3080, the company never released a Founder’s Edition or reference model. That means the listed specs are often different than what you’ll find on graphics cards you can buy. For example, the MSI Suprim X 12GB RTX 3080 includes a 180MHz boost to the clock speed and a 50W boost to power. We haven’t seen any graphics cards that go the opposite way on specs, and if they pop up, they’ll likely be small form factor or other special options.

In action, the 12GB RTX 3080 and 10GB models perform very similarly. There are differences, but throughout our testing, we found that the differences are often balanced out by other games. Here are results at 4K with the highest graphical preset using an Intel Core i9-10900K, Windows 10, and 32GB of RAM:

3DMark Time Spy shows the clearest difference between the cards, and it represents what you can expect. The 12GB RTX 3080 offers about a 6% improvement over the 10GB model, which is what you’ll find in games on average. As you can see from our other results, though, that improvement isn’t always present.

In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla,for example, the 12GB RTX 3080 was technically worse than the 10GB model (though only by a single frame). In Battlefield V,the 12GB model brought a minor 3% improvement, and Civilization VIwas a few frames behind.

The only oddball in our data is Fortnite.We ran the 10GB test on an older version of the game, so you shouldn’t compare the results directly. However, we also tested the RTX 3090 with the most recent patch and only found a three-frame improvement over the 12GB RTX 3080. In a multiplayer game like this, you should expect very similar performance between the 12GB RTX 3080 and the 10GB model.

There’s a reason both of these graphics cards are technically RTX 3080s. They perform at about the same level, with the 12GB model offering an average 6% improvement across games. That may sound like a sizeable, if unexciting, improvement, but that doesn’t come out in practice. In reality, some games have a decent performance improvement while others occasionally have a deficit.

In content creation workloads, the increased bandwidth of the 12GB RTX 3080 shines more. It’s not a large enough improvement to justify spending more on the 12GB model. However, if you find both options around the same price, the 12GB model performs better.

In PugetBench for Premiere Pro, however, it was slightly worse. We’re talking about a 2% difference between the results, which is well within the margin of error. The two cards are equally matched here. Similarly, the Blender Classroom render took longer on the 12GB model, which was a result we were able to replicate across tests.

The Blender BMW and Koro renders show the 12GB RTX 3080 in a more positive light. The card was about 13% faster with the Koro render and 17% faster with the BMW render. Those aren’t small advantages, but as our other results show, those advantages aren’t always present.

Although the 12GB RTX 3080 has better content creation performance than the 10GB model overall, the differences aren’t worth an upgrade. If the 10GB RTX 3080 won’t cut it for you, we recommend upgrading to the RTX 3080 Ti or RTX 3090. They’re more expensive, but they also offer much clearer performance benefits.

It’s hard to compare the 12GB RTX 3080 to the 10GB model because there isn’t a firm price on either. A 5% improvement means nothing, positive or negative, unless it’s balanced with price. If the 12GB model was $100 cheaper, for example, the 5% performance uplift would make it one of the best graphics cards you can buy.

Based on the GPU market in 2022, the 12GB model should sell for a lot more than the 10GB one, and there’s not enough of a performance improvement to justify upgrading. If the cards continue to sell for the prices they’re at now, the 10GB RTX 3080 will be the better deal every time.

That said, it’s possible you’ll be in a situation where the 12GB RTX 3080 is all that’s available. We wouldn’t recommend chasing it over the 10GB model. However, both cards perform excellently and within a few percentage points of each other, so it comes down to which card you can find, and at what price.

Frankly, I’m not sure which numbers are the most staggering here. Is it that the supposedly $329 RTX 3060 fetches over $800 on average, or that the RTX 3090 and 3080 are each worth $900 more than they were just three months ago? Or maybe is it that my own 3060 Ti, which I finally managed to snap up for its retail price of $399 after months of trying, could sell for $1,200 now?

I dashed over to eBay to run the numbers — the same ones I’ve been compiling since December 2020 to show you the true street price of a GPU. Sure enough, this week is the week the most popular graphics cards finally hit MSRP on the secondhand market as well. The RTX 3080 is hovering around $700, the exact price Nvidia originally said it would cost.

It was also Nvidia’s most popular and best bang for your buck cards — the RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070, and RTX 3080 — that saw the biggest dips. Of those cards, the 3060 Ti is the only used GPU that can’t be had at or under MSRP on average. Meanwhile, an average AMD card will cost you $100 less than MSRP.

The secondhand market even seems to be normalizing prices of Nvidia and AMD’s more overpriced GPUs. You can buy a used 6900 XT for $300 off its $999 MSRP, and I saw eBay buyers get an average of $318, $466, and $540 off Nvidia’s 3080 Ti, 3090, and 3090 Ti, respectively.

Reportedly, one big reason used GPU prices are tanking is because crypto miners are flooding the market with cards that are no longer profitable due to the ongoing crypto crash, where the total market cap of all crypto assets has fallen by two-thirds since its peak of $3 trillion last November. (Miners have been switching away from GPUs for some time, though.)

Whether it was used for gaming or mining, maybe buy locally or from a site with good buyer protection — there have been reports of damaged GPUs among the flood. If you do get the chance to test, here’s a Gamers Nexus video that can walk you through potential red flags.

Prefer new instead of used? Outside of my Best Buy Founders Edition finds, things aren’t quite as rosy — because you’re going to have to deal with the desire of Nvidia and AMD board partners and retailers to make as much money as possible now that they have inventory to clear.

Falcodrin, the GPU hunter I profiled last December, tells me that new GPU prices have been all over the place, and it’s not hard to find evidence of that: Best Buy is stocking third-party RTX 3060 Ti cards that cost substantially more than the more powerful RTX 3070 I had in my cart. If you want to buy a card with a fancy cooler for twice MSRP, you’ve still got plenty of options because an across the board price drop hasn’t yet arrived.

Instead of drops, they’re still trying to attract customers with sales, like EVGA’s anniversary sale today, where an RTX 3080 can be had for only $80 over MSRP and both the 3080 Ti and 3090 Ti are under MSRP.

But, if you’re the kind of person who will be satisfied with a current-gen GPU instead of waiting for next gen, it sounds like those price cuts might be coming. Seeing how some first-party GPUs can be had at MSRP, EVGA’s sales, and that 3DCenter price index, it’s not hard to see room for the rest of the prices to sink.

One of the most powerful gaming GPUs you can get in a laptop today, Nvidia’s RTX 3080 and 3080 Ti boost clocks up to 1,710 MHz (depending on TGP), up to 16GB of GDDR6 memory and 6,144 CUDA cores.

The pairing of an Intel Alder Lake 12th Gen i9-12900H CPU and Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti in a 16-inch laptop provides the power to create, and to game. Dell / Alienware offers RTX 3080 GPUs as an option on several different systems, including the Alienware m17 R4(opens in new tab), along with the Alienware X15(opens in new tab) and Alienware X17(opens in new tab). At press time, the m17 R4 was not available on Dell.com with the RTX 3080 option (though it has offered it in the past), which is a shame because that model has a speedy 150-watt TGP (total graphics power) for its 3080. All models on Dell.com appear to be in stock with ship dates of about a month from now.

This high-end configuration comes standard with a 12th Gen, Core i9-12900H and an RTX 3080 Ti. It also sports a 1TB NVMe SSD, 240Hz QHD screen, and 32GB of RAM.

Razer offers a really wide variety of RTX 3080-powered gaming laptops, with sizes ranging from 14 to 17 inches. On Razer"s site, you"ll find no less than 11 different SKUs(opens in new tab) with RTX 3080 inside. However, as of this writing, only five are in stock on Razer.com. These include the Razer Blade 14(opens in new tab) with a Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU and QHD screen and the Razer Blade 15 Advanced(opens in new tab) with a 4K OLED screen and Core i9-11900H CPU. Asus makes a slew of gaming laptops under both its Republic and Gamers (ROG) and TUF Gaming lines. However, if you"re looking for an RTX 3080 laptop from Asus, you"re most likely to find it in the form of either the ROG Strix Scar or ROG Zephyrus models.

Available in 15 and 17-inch sizes, the Strix Scar is designed to target competitive gamers or anyone who values a high refresh rate most of all. The Scar 15, for example, is available with a 300 Hz panel. The thinner and more attractive Zephyrus is no slouch either, sporting a 165 Hz panel.

Yesterday was a pretty exciting day for most of us, I guess. The GeForce RTX 3080 was finally available in Malaysia… and they are gone. With limited availability from all brands, they all sold out pretty quickly. While we wait for the brands to restock their wares, well here are the GeForce RTX 3080 cards from NVIDIA’s partners that were launched here in Malaysia.

In case you missed it, we were actually a part of ASUS Malaysia’s launch of the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3080. This is in fact going to be one of the most affordable GeForce RTX 3080 cards available here in Malaysia. Unlike earlier TUF Gaming cards, this time around we are getting a seriously tough card that looks the part, and performs great too. In fact it offers all the trappings of the previous generation of ROG Strix cards, like the Axial-tech fans and a thick 2.7-slot cooler. The GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3080 is GIGABYTE’s more affordable option, with a simple, no frills design. With that said, it still sports everything you need to extract the maximum performance out of the GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, with two 90mm fans, one 80mm fan, seven heatpipes and a big and thick heatsink to provide all the cooling you need.

Taking things up a notch, the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming OC offers not only a more stylish design, but also greater performance with the GeForce RTX 3080 GPU running at 1800MHz. Interestingly, the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming OC is actually marginally thinner than the EAGLE OC, although that shouldn’t affect the cooling as the 1mm difference should be due to the shroud design rather than the actual heatsink itself.

ZOTAC made a stark departure from their previous designs with the ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 Trinity, for better or worse. Even the naming scheme has been changed from their usual AMP branding, which just sounds like a big missed opportunity for puns, considering that this is, after all, the NVIDIA Ampere generation… Seven heatpipes, three 11-bladed fans and a huge heatsink ensures that the higher TGP of the GeForce RTX 30 series is well managed to deliver optimal performance. It is also the only card we have seen thus far to have RGB lighting on the backplate, so if you fancy that, this will be the card for you.

The MSI VENTUS series have been MSI’s more value-oriented lineup, and this time the MSI GeForce RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X takes that to a whole new level. Coming with three fans, a thick beefy heatsink and a strong backplate that also helps with the cooling, the MSI GeForce RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X cuts back on all the frivolous RGB for a performance-focused design.

For a more powerful yet flashier card from MSI, you will have to look towards the MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio. This graphics card sports the latest TORX FAN 4.0 that sports fan blades with a linked outer ring to increase airflow into the heatsink. The heatsink itself also sports deflectors and curved edges to avoid airflow harmonics, promising lower noise levels while efficiently cooling the components.

GIGABYTE’s more premium offerings are finally here in Malaysia. Starting with the GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 3080 MASTER. Aside from some relatively minor differences, the AORUS GeForce RTX 3080 MASTER offers most of the benefits of the AORUS GeForce RTX 3080 XTREME, including the Max-Covered Cooling system that comprises of two 115mm fans and one 100mm fans. The fans overlap each other to ensure that there aren’t any dead zones in the heatsinks, and also sport a wind claw to channel airflow into the heatsink fins.

To further bump up the cooling, GIGABYTE combined a vapor chamber and seven heatpipes in their AORUS GeForce RTX 30 series cards to improve the heat transfer from the GPU die into the heatsink. Near the rear end of the card is a color LCD display, customizable via the RGB Fusion 2.0 software. Interestingly enough, while the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3080 Eagle OC and Gaming OC cards had an extension to place the power connectors right at the end of the graphics card, the GIGABYTE AORUS ones don’t. Last but not least, the GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 30 series cards offer six display outputs, although you can only use four monitors tops.

Adding on a third 8-pin PCIe power connector, the GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 3080 XTREME is designed for the hardcore enthusiasts who want to take the GeForce RTX 3080 to its limits. Right out of the box, the AORUS GeForce RTX 3080 XTREME touts a 1905MHz boost clock, a good 195MHz faster than the reference GeForce RTX 3080. Aside from these differences, the XTREME is similar to the MASTER, with both of them sharing the same cooler fundamentally, although with some aesthetic changes to make the XTREME look even beefier, as if its physical dimensions aren’t enough to impress everyone out there.

Featuring the beefiest cooler ASUS has to offer, the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3080 OC Edition is over-engineered to ensure that you are able to experience the full potential of the GeForce RTX 3080 without having to worry about not having enough power or cooling. Aside from that, the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3080 OC Edition also packs one of the highest clocks we have seen yet, with an OC Mode accessible via GPU Tweak II to add an additional 30MHz to the already impressive 1905MHz boost clocks.

Overall, the best graphics card deals in the US are found over at Newegg, a retailer that generally offers the widest range of cards at the lowest prices. In the UK, the field of competitive retailers is wider with Box(opens in new tab), Scan(opens in new tab), Ebuyer(opens in new tab), CCL(opens in new tab), and AWD-IT(opens in new tab) all offering excellent prices. Generally speaking though, Overclockers(opens in new tab) tends to offer the cheapest prices by a slight margin.

The RTX 3080 is Nvidia"s latest flagship "consumer" graphics card, and the current performance king in regards to 4K gaming (well, aside from the bonkers RTX 3090).

Rocking the new "Ampere" architecture means the RTX 3080 boasts a fairly significant performance advantage over the now older Turing RTX 2000 series, although perhaps not quite the "double" that Nvidia claimed in its marketing. That said, if you"re looking for incredible 4K gaming, DLSS support and Ray-tracing performance, the RTX 3080 is going to your card of choice.

Nvidia planned on keeping the price fairly static at launch with a price of $699 / £649 / AU$950 on the founders edition - roughly the same as the previous Turing generation of cards, but still more than the $599 the GTX 1080 launched at. Considering the power on display here, these are actually very reasonable prices although as you"d expect people are snapping these up and those remaining cards fetch a kings ransom.

With the RX 6800 XT, AMD is looking to stick it to Nvidia with a high-end Ray-tracing ready beast capable of firing out some serious 4K gaming performance.

Benchmarks put it within a hairsbreadth of the RTX 3080 at launch, with a slight edge to team green when it comes to 4K and Ray-tracing performance. Still, with a launch price of $649 / £649 / AU$960, AMD is looking to do what AMD does best with the RX 6800 XT - provide a ton of power for a respectable price point.

Unfortunately, like the RTX 3080, prices for the RX 6800 XT are significantly upscaled right now thanks to the incredible demand for performance GPUs. On auction sites, prices of $1,200 / £1,200 are not uncommon, and we wouldn"t recommend paying out for these scalped prices if you can hold off waiting for a few months.

Like it"s predecessors, the Nvidia RTX 3070 is going to be that card that brings incredible enthusiast-level performance to a much more reasonable price point. With 4K performance roughly equivalent to last generations RTX 2080 TI, the RTX 3070 is definitely one very, very speedy card for even the most intensive of applications.

A launch price of $449 / £469 / AU$809 puts it smack bang right in the middle between the RTX 3080 and the more budget orientated RTX 3060 Ti, making it the choice for 4K enthusiasts who want to still want a bang for the buck GPU. Considering this card looks to outstrip the RTX 2080 Ti on performance with less power consumption, a smaller chassis, and half the launch price, it"s good value on paper.

We say on paper because, as expected, demand is massively outpacing supply currently on this card like the other new releases on our list. Current scalper prices can fetch upwards of $800 / £800 right now, which are absolutely exorbitant prices to pay for a card that isn"t at the very top-end of the market. We recommend checking in regularly, as we"ll be updating this article every day with the latest prices.

With a launch price of $399 / £299 / AU$540 the new Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti looks to be a great choice for those PC gamers who are looking to build a machine that"ll hold it"s own against the new consoles while coming in on budget.

Unlike the beefier RTX 3080 and 3070, the Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti provides only entry-level 4K performance, but when it comes to offering great frame rates at 1080p with ray-tracing, it"s actually faster than the previous generations RTX 2080 Super. So, if excellent future-proofed 1080p performance is your priority, the RTX 3060 Ti is an incredibly capable card that should give you plenty of bang for the buck.

Again, scalpers currently hold this card at around $650 / £600, so it"s probably going to be worth waiting for things to calm down a little before you pick one up. Released in 2020, the Nvidia GTX 1660 Super was essentially a refresh of the existing GTX 1660, bringing it up to date with a fresh batch of GDDR6 memory under the hood to help it keep up with the latest games.

Ok, so in 2022, this card isn"t going to blow you away with its performance, especially on those latest games, and Ray-tracing can only be dreamt of at this price. However, this card will run modern games at 1080p, and is more than adequate if you"re simply building a machine for casual use.

Yes and no. Right now is the best time in the past 18 months or so to be looking to snag a new GPU. Stock is plentiful, we"re starting to see MSRP cards, and gamers aren"t putting up with lame scalping tactics anymore. Generally speaking though, we"re headed in the right direction.
